What is the value of good directions and kind instruction? My friend and Zoweh Elder/Sage (E/S), Mark Haskins, offers both in his  new monthly blog series, “Thoughts for Your Heart”. I am excited and honored to team up with a man who has both the wisdom of years and insight into the masculine journey, particularly our friends and allies in the E/S stage. Through his writings, Mark will invite men to reflect on their own stories and encourage them to take the next steps in their journey of loving others well.

As is true for many of us, I have the miles, scars, joys, disappointments, and experiences that come with simply living  life for a number of decades.  At this time, I am certainly an elder in my Christian faith journey (in years and  experience)  and hopefully I am on the road to becoming wise and sage-like, too. Although it did not always feel like it  when in the midst of living life, I am quick to say that I have been immensely blessed and along the way I have learned a  lot about the greatest love story ever known—that is, God's love for me and for you.  These blogs reflect the stories  and insights that blessed my heart on my journey, and I hope they bless yours in a way that deepens, strengthens,  uplifts, and expands how you see God’s love story and His invitation to you to be an active, oriented part in it. I am grateful to Michael Thompson and Zoweh’s Elder/Sage initiative for their encouragement to write and post these reflections and stories.
